Playa Blanca Volcano Walk

The Playa Blanca Volcano Walk is ideal for families who are staying in Playa Blanca.

The Volcano Walk is known as the Red Mountain or Montana Roja. It is a small volcano that bears a clear visibility from the resort. Montana Roja goes with the name Volcano walk since it has a well-worn footpath up the mountain and around the crater.

It will take about half an hour to get to the top of the volcano.

There, you can enjoy the panoramic views over the Playa Blanca resort, the distance beaches, surrounding volcanic mountains, and across to Fuerteventura island.

Getting to Playa Blanca Volcanic Walk

You would expect the pronunciation of Montana Roja to be “Montana Roha” in Spanish. Although, it is pronounced as “Montana Roger.”

To get there, you will need a car that will take you to the foot of the Volcano Walk. You can then park it and enjoy the short, easy walk as you climb it. In case you are staying around Playa Blanca, you can lengthen the walk by starting further from The Red Mountain.

If you are a loner holidaymaker or a young couple, it might be a little more enjoyable to walk to the mountain rather than driving and then starting the walk.

Making the Walk Even More Memorable

Furthermore, you should have a good hat and apply some sunscreen before starting the walk. There will be no harm if you opt for good sunglasses if sunscreen is not your kind of stuff.

Walking Around Montana Roja

You will start the walk from urbanization all the way to the west of Playa Blanca.

For you to get there, you will drive to the base by turning into Calle Francia and then taking the second left into Calle de Los Claveles. That is, in case you are in the resort of Playa Blanca.

In case you feel the need to leave a mark of your visit, you can add one stone or pebble on the piles.
