Places to Visit In Playa Blanca


Lighthouse of Pechiger is located on one of the beautiful parts of the coast. For many years lighthouse served for local fishermen, who were forced to go fishing in all weather. Now the top of the lighthouse is a viewing platform, from where you can admire the picturesque views of the resort.

The natural symbol of the Spanish resort is the volcano Montagna Roja. Its last eruption happened a long time ago. Today the volcano is considered dormant. There are very interesting hiking trails. For the fans of outdoor activities, it’s  popular to climb the top of the volcano. The volcano has a gentle slope, so no special training is needed when climbing.  The top offers an astonishing view of the resort area and the coast.

The most unusual attraction of Playa Blanca is located in the vicinity of the saline pond, Laguna de Hunubio. Many years ago saltwork was opened, which continues to work to this day and is the only one of its kind on the island. Cuisine of Playa Blanca

National cuisine is a harmonious combination of Moorish, Jewish and European traditions. It is distinguished by the variety of dishes and the use of wide range of products. It is also included in the first courses.

Many people associate national cuisine with tomato soup “gazpacho”. Indeed, it is one of the most famous national dishes, but among tourists soups of beans and lentils are equally popular. A real national pride is a paella. There are several dozen variations of cooking this dish. There is a paella of meat, seafood, and vegetables. Various ways of preparing the dish may seem very original to the foreign guests. Some cooks prepare a paella with the addition of snails and chorizo.
